RISE is a research project funded by the National Council on Aging and the
ACL Innovation Lab to study if the negative impact of falls can be reduced by supporting the physical, cognitive, and emotional health
of older adults 60+ living in or around Rio Arriba County.

What is RISE?
RISE is a 2-year research project that empowers older adults to improve balance, mobility, brain health, and overall quality of life to prevent falls. Funded by the ACL Innovation Lab & the National Council on Aging, RISE combines innovative strategies, expert instruction, and community support to keep you strong, confident, and independent.

What Will Participants Do?
Participants will complete a checklist of activities each month, degined as a menu of activities.
Activities will include work alone, or with a group; in person, on line, or watching a pre-recorded video.
Activities can be done in the community, at home, and/or at Bridge to Health NM.
Activities are designed to be flexible and work with the complicated logistics of everyday life.
Activities will be offered in Spanish when needed.
Enjoy on-site childcare for participants caring for children will be available with advance notice.
Receive gas card incentives when goals are met four times a year.

Who Can Join?

Living in Rio Arriba County or surrounding communities

Willing to complete four or more activities per week
